I read this article yesterday and I was quite interested. I have not had a chance to download the software yet, but I will this weekend. I hardly ever use 2D anymore (since I have Alibre Expert). But I know many of you still do. Since it is supported by DS I figure it has got to be better than most 2D CAD packages out there. oh ya and did I mention it's FREEEEEEEE!!!!!

ProgeCAD might be another option for those looking for free 2D software. Functionality is very similar to AutoCad.
