| Mike, Let them know they are dealing with a community of CNC'er that could be potential buyer's of their products. One bad complaint on them would be very bad for their business. I have seen it happen here before. Wayne |

| Out of pure curiousity - what is not working - it coulbe something really stupid - describe the fault and maybe someone on the zone might be able to help.

| Hi When i jog the machine in the X & Y axis it is perfect. But when i jog the Z axis it just judders, the ballscrew tries to turn but just judders.I have changed the stepper motor, taken the ballscrew out it runs free.so i can't think of anything else it might be. Thanks Mike |

Put the stepper from the z axis onto one of the other axis too see if its the motor - to me it sounds like you have an alignment problem

| I had the very same problem whilst building my machine - and I just checked it all ,could not see what the problem was until I dismantled the Z axis and one of the shafts was slightly bent - replaced the shaft and was back in line. Maybe you might need a local small engineering company to have a quick look if you are not happy about doing it yourself. Best of luck in your new time consuming hobby - whatever you end up making with the machine.

The first thing to do before pulling motors off etc is lower the rapid speed and acceleration for the Z axis. Drop it by at least half and see if that makes a difference. Let us know the result. Greg |
