Looking to buy CNC router and Laser Cutter

I'm a designer and I want to start a prototype making business, so for the time being I'd like to start educating myself about what machines would be good to buy.
My two thoughts were a 5 axis router and a laser cutter.
It would be great if I can keep the cost for both of those machines under $30,000
For a laser cutter, I'd like something that can cut metal sheets as well. Up to 10mm thickness I think would be plenty for most jobs.

Can you guys give me some direction on what models would be good to consider buying?

I apologize for my ignorance, a small search on the internet made me realize that 5axis routers are way expensive, and probably an overkill. Maybe I can achieve the 5axis functionality by simply re orienting the part and sanding off any inconsistencies where the two sides meet.
Still if you guys can suggest some decent 3 axis router and a laser cutter that would be great.

You will not find a laser to cut 10mm steel for $30k, I only know of one "low power" laser for cutting steel (2 or 3mm) and its still over $100k. kernlaser.com

For cutting metal you would probably be much better off with a plasma cutter. Torchmate and Plasmacam are a couple big names.

On the router it really depends on what you want to cut but you could look at Shopbot, Techno, EZ Router, etc.
