    Question Starting a programming business?

    Hello,

I have a couple customers that need some CNC 5 axis programming done.. This will be my first attempt to do this... What are you recommendations for starting this up? Website first? One place would like me to send info to them about my company? What kind of spreadsheets or quoting info do you guys send your customers? Do you have a resume like sheet that you send them? Or do you have a domain name and website that does all of this?

    Thanks

Yes, you need references. You need to list your experience with which machines, materials, and software. Probably less than 50% of my business comes from a web site. Most of it comes from networking, going out to trade shows, and word of mouth. I rarely "quote" a job. I have a minimum I charge for "normal" work. If the job is more complicated and seems it will take longer, I let my clients know this in advance.

Great thanks you for the info... I like your website.. Since I haven't got my website finished I will send him a spread sheet of the references and software and other things I have done...
