Hello All, Have you ever needed machining work done but didn't no where to start? were you daunted by the fact you may have to spend hours trawling through different companies to try and find someone willing to take on your job? I am studying mechanical engineering and currently serving a 4year apprenticeship and as a college project I was proposing to build an online site where YOU post your job detailing all relevant info and then engineers bid for your job? I was thinking you could post your job for free but engineering individuals or companies may have to register for a small fee. When the engineer has won your job then you will be put into contact with each other and then the rest is down to you As an engineer i recognise the importance for you to communicate directly with the company or individual whom is doing your work so basically the website will be used as a tool to help you streamline the selection process. Any feedback, criticisms or points worth considering would be greatly appreciated! thanks in advance! James |

| You're kinda preachin to the choir here - this is a cnc site so most of us here are users of cnc...but...I take it you've never seen mfg.com ? (and NO, I wouldn't use mfg dot com so hopefully I am WAY off base here and am just misunderstanding you) The way MFG.com is, you basically have a lowest bidder mentality and so you usually end up with lowest bidder results. I don't believe the iron wall of communication is changed by the use of this site either. If anything, it makes it worse....much worse.
