Default Finished a new project today

Here's some pics of a basement bar I built for some friends. Just needs the granite tops to be complete. Pics are a bit fuzzy due to low light. I lightened up in Photoshop.

Looks very nice. Looks like you made a form and covered it in wacky board and then veneered it. Well that's how we do it anyways. Did you contact it on or press? Make the doors or outsource them? details would be nice Ger!

The main curved wall is 5/8"mdf kerfed on a cnc beam saw. Sequenced matched (across the front) cherry veneer applied with contact cement. The black columns are 3/8 bending plywood wrapped around very tricky plywood frames, covered with walnut veneer dyed black. The cherry doors were puurchased from www.walzcraft.com

The homeowner is purchasing the granite and having a custom stainless steel foot rail fabricated, and doing all the other basement work himself, and probably won't have it finished for a few more months

Gerry, can you take a quick video of the cnc beam saw with your new-fangled camera? This is a new one to me. I googled it, but am still a bit puzzled on how it works. (Or maybe just a link to one.)

You wouldn't see much in a video. During the cutting you don't see anything.
Think of a table saw with a moving blade. You have a 12ft+ table with the saw motor and blade on a carriage underneath the table. A hollow beam over the line of cut holds the sheets in place and guards the blade. Pnuematic grippers hold and position the sheets. You can cut several sheets at a time. Up to 3" thick on the saw we have.

The customer had the basic design, I refined it and figured out how to build it. No CNC involved except for 2 small templates for the curved section. All built in my small 2 car garage. It's about 20 ft from end to end, btw.

Heck thats cheaper than I though it would be, but then He is doing allot of the work himself and that cuts allot of labor out of the estimate.

    thanks
