Default New guy need some pointers!

Hi, first of all i would like to say what a great forum you guys have here.

I have been reading the forum for a while now, because i have been planing to build my own cnc plasma cut table for a couple of year but because of the lack of information this project of mine stod still until i find this site.

The very first doubt of mine, (the first of many to come hopefully), is this, i bought in late 2007 a plasma cutting machine and i would like to know if anyone can tell me if this machine can be use to make a cnc table?

The machine is a cemont sharp 40M:

The table must cut 3,10 meters x 1,60 meters. Do you guys things its doable?

Thanks in advance for the replys.

    Best Regards

I dont know if this on the right forum but i think it does.

P.S.-(Sorry for my bad english, but i dont write anything in 5 years )

    Welcome to CNC Zone!

The machine you purchased has "blow back" arc starting which is good.
This is preferred rather than high frequency starts that can cause problems with the controls for CNC plasma tables.

It certainly is possible to build your own CNC plasma arc cutting table.
The project log forum has many examples that myself & others have created.

Read, study, ask questions & you will succeed.

(Your English is very easy to understand.)
