Default OMAX 55100 Head Vibration Issues

    Hey everyone,

We have an OMAX 55100 with tilt-a-jet. We have always had a little bit of vibration in the head along the X-Axis but recently it has gotten significantly worse. We always used to attribute it to the cantilever design, but it is definitely getting worse. This happens even without the pump running, so it isn't some kind of resonance issue.

We replaced the old cracked timing belts for both X and Y, replaced the tail bearings for both X and Y and lubed every lube point on both axes until they ran clean grease only. We have checked every bearing, surface and drive point that we can think of and haven't been able to reduce the vibration. Applying pressure in any direction to the end of the cantilever doesn't seem to affect it either, though the head is heavy enough that applying pressure by hand doesn't do much.

Has anyone ever had issues like this? Naturally OMAX wants to send a tech out to inspect the machine, but our pocketbook is already light right now. Having a tech come to our facility seems to always be a $2500+ ordeal BEFORE parts are factored in. I just want to be sure I've exhausted every option before we go that route.

    Thanks for reading!

Have you gotten the vibration issue resolved?
We have a brand new Omax and there is a little vibration.... The factory guy is looking into it...
    Was wondering if it's symptomatic.
