Default Ideal table height and slats

I'm building a plasma table and now I'm up to building the legs-supporting frame. My thought is the height where the material sits will be 32". as far as the slats go I see interlocking checker boards and simple curved parallel designs. what are the pros and cons to each design

It all depends on how tall you are. In my opinion, the perfect table height is so that you can reach the centre of the table from both sides with your feet on the floor. It would really suck to have to keep climbing up on the table to get those parts in the middle. I think a interlocking checkerboard would be a bit overkill. You are going to use twice as much metal that way. If you have 3 anchor points for your slats, one in the centre and one on both ends, and curve your slats then all you will need is slats running on one axis. For an example, you can se how my slats are layed out here
