I am looking for feedback from all of you waterjet users out there.
I am developing a new waterjet technology that cuts slightly faster and is able to re-use the abrasive, reducing your operating costs (abrasive, power, water, consumables, NOT labor/overhead) by about 50%.
This technology would be available as either a complete machine or as a retrofit option for your existing CNC table.
My customer feedback so far says that waterjets are slow and expensive to operate/maintain so my thought is this machine would be very desirable for shops, but I am looking to all of you for feedback.
Would you buy such a machine if it existed? Does this sound like a game changer for your shop, or are other concerns of yours more important than a speed increase and cost reduction?
I am excited to hear what you all have to say!!
Even if all you have to say is "this sounds like smoke and mirrors", I would love to hear that.
Just in case anyone was wondering, I am not fishing for sales leads here, as I am not selling machines, I'm just trying to collect opinions.
I look forward to learning from all of you in the waterjet world.
Thanks
Is re-using the abrasive something you all do?
Anyone use a Hypertherm eco-sift machine?
How much virgin abrasive do you keep on hand?
What is your process for getting rid of the abrasive?
