You're not giving anyone enough information to help you.
I don't know what type of machine you're using, what software your using, what the sign is made of, ...?

How did you get the double lines? Is this a raster to vector conversion? What software?

    Is this a laser?

Sorry ger21 for not giving enough info

the router we are using is a Chinese 3040 the software we use to control it is CNC USB, and the material we are working with is acrylic, now normally we just import 2D image into CNCUSB and that's when we get the double lines, not on all images but most of them would also like to know how to remove them and how we go about shading certain parts of carving?

Sorry, but I'm not familiar with that software. Some software is much better at raster to vector conversions than others, so you might want to try a different software package.

I don't know what you mean by "shading". Paint, maybe?

That's edge lit. The light coming in through the edge of the acrylic lights up the parts that you machine.
