A Centroid Acorn is probably a much better choice than Mach3.
I posted previously and got a few answers so no I've changed my game plan on this

I bought a Hurco Hawk 5 cnc with the electronics not working and I'm going to retrofit them.
This is what I'm looking to get.
X, Y, Servo motors- https://www.teknic.com/model-info/CPM-SDSK-3421P-ELS/
Z Servo motor- https://www.teknic.com/model-info/CPM-SDSK-3411P-ELS/
Motion Controller - https://www.cncdrive.com/UC400ETH.html
Usb Keyboard Encoder- https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...6RTRVLG5&psc=1
Motion Controller breakout https://www.amazon.com/Sysly-Breakou...breakout&psc=1
Power supply will be provided from the old one in the machine
The servo motors are powered from a separate power source and the input on them is (5-24vdc 20-500KHZ) for the actual motion control. The motion controller I've selected has runs up to 400KHz and has an output range from 0-5vdc on ALL pins (if I'm reading the manual correctly). I'm thinking I'll just have (Mach3 - Motioncontroller - IDC26 breakout - servos) The reason for the Usb keyboard encoder is so I can use the pre-existing buttons on the controller for my cycle start feed hold ect. and just use the hot keys in mach 3 for that. I will also be using a usb MPG that just plugs into the computer that's compatible with mach 3 The hurco already has limit and homing switches on the machine that I want to use.
So the total inputs I can think of are
- X home
- Y home
- Z home
- X limit
- Y limt
- Z Upper limit
- Z Lower limit
- Emergency stop
So my questions are,
- Will this even work? Am I forgetting something?
- Will I have enough I/O for all the switches I want
- Are they're better components I can use?
- Your opinions of this build.
- Do I have to do anything special for the 'Closed loop system' to work with mach 3
