    Smile condensate circulation

Hi, newbie training in power plant division, here i want to know about something.

This is, our turbine condensate treatment process flow. (See attachment below)

Of course you know, boiler feed water has gone through demineralization process and dearator, turned into steam inside the boiler, get in to turbine, last turned into condensate inside the condenser.
In the process flow, you see that the condensate water, go through the mixed bed polisher before it become boiler feed water again. that means condensate water through demineralization process again.

My question is, why it must go through demineralization process again whereas it is already pure water? Does its conductivity increase/Or the mineral content increase? Why the condensate water not directly used to be boiler's feed water? What happen to the water inside the process?

    Thanks before.

    Default Re: condensate circulation

When you run superheated steam you need to be sure there are no contaminate in the water as it can destroy stuff ... in the system you can pick up oil ..scale from parts .. water is never that pure when you start and can build up stuff over time
