Hi, I've been machining for 50+ years and I would not call machining a 3 start thread in aluminium bronze as difficult but bloody heart breaking......if you don't have the skill to cut threads then send it out.

Hi, sorry can't help you as I've been out of the work force for 15 years now and it's all new now with new tooling.....but one thing I will say....ally bronze is not a material to mess with if you aren't a machinist of merit....it will work harden and be like tough steel if you use a blunt tool on it and it can distort with material removal if you let it get hot.

One serious word of warning......if you drill or ream it, keep it cool or it expands rapidly and then contracts just a quickly enough to grip the tool and break it......tapping is a nightmare unless your taps are new and sharp........ordinary bronze has similar qualities but not so bad.
