    How large is your workshop?

I so new to CNC I'm not even new yet!

I'm disabled now and just getting into any form of woodworking. I see the possibilities for me mostly in CNC, before my stroke I worked for 20+ years in the graphics business & always with computers.

I want to do CNC as a hobby and maybe a buck or two.

What other equipment do you have? What do you have that you just can't live without?

My shop is 20x24 with 10 foot walls. That leaves plenty of headroom for tall equipment. I'm more into metal working so I think my needs will be very different from your needs. Take a look at my shop video I made the other day for an idea on how much room is inside.

Hmm....Thanks for the video, it was big help.

I was quoted a 10' x 20' building with 10' ceilings, while we're in different worlds after seeing you video I think I'll have a little bigger one quoted.

    How big? Good question!

    Thanks,

    David

My shop is 30 x 40 x 12. and it's so full that I have just enough room to pull in my Dodge 2500 4 door and shut the overhead door, that is if I move the forklift out. This allows me to back up to the router to offload a sheet from the pickup bed to the router table.

Pretty well equipped for both metal and woodworking. What could I do without? Good question, I'm still buying more stuff.

    The partial equipment list:
    Eagle 4-axis CNC Mill
    ThermWood 4x8 CNC Router
    Shizuoka AN-S CNC Mill
    Jet GH1340 lathe
    Harvel 6x18 surface grinder
    DoALL MTA-6x18 Surface Grinder
Enco BM-450A tool & cutter grinder
    Miller SyncroWave 250
And a bunch of other tools

The bottom line is that you will never have enough room.

    NICE!

    I think something around 15'x20'x10' is more my speed...since I don't a Dodge 2500!

Mine is a detached garage , 22'x26' with a 10' ceiling , and it's far to small . By the time I get the tablesaw , router table , work bench , drill press , belt sander , planer , laser engraver etc , there's maybe enough room for a 4/6 CNC router table . I wanted to buy a Pro version 4x8 from CNCrouterparts, but I may have to settle on a 4x4 .

If I was to build a shop , it would have to be 40x60 to do it right imo

I don't actually know anything about CNC router tables , but I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night
