Need Help with "Z" Axix

Sorry to bother everyone but I need some big time help. When I press the PGUP my "Z" drive may go up or it might go down. Same thing happens when you press the PGDN and I have replaced the "Z" axis motor so, I know that is not the problem. Also, I purchased a new Lead screw and I was wondering if it can with a brass nut do you still have to get a backlash nut. Thank you for your help.

New update, I have replaced the motor and the motor driver and still are having the same issue. My question is could it be the controller card that is causing the problem because this is only happening on the Z axis.
