Re: Welcome thread-tell us about you.
CNC newbie, built a 3d printer from a kit, decided I needed MORE POWER, so I designed and built a small CNC router based on GRBL and USGS. Just starting to cut, need to find a sample or 2 to make sure I am getting the hang of it. Of course then the upgrades start.

Hello, I am the proud owner of Dynatorch Super B with a Hypertherm 85. Trying to get everything sorted out with it to have some nicely finished products once cut. I am having some issues on the thin stuff but I have cut up to 1/4" which was great to work with.

Re: Welcome thread-tell us about you.
Hi, I'm John. I'm 5' 11" brown hair, blue eyes and love long walks on the beach. Oh wait... Yeah, I'm a 22 year software development vet. CNC noob. I've had an 1000mm X-Carve for about a year and a half. I use Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Vectric Aspire, and Universal G-Code Sender. I also fool around with cutting vinyl on a 28" USCutter, and 3D print using a TEVO Black Widow. I write code for Windows mostly, but I also play with Arduino code for personal projects as well. Oh, and I refurb arcade machines. Oh and I live at the end of a dirt road in the middle of nowhere Mississippi. And, I have a cow. Moo.

Re: Welcome thread-tell us about you.
Hello all, I’m a noob in the CNC world. I have one of those 3040T machines. I haven’t done any thing with it yet, but am looking forward to learning how to use it. I bought a few different softwares for this machine. Vcarve, SolidWorks, and Mach3. I am not familiar with any of these programs, but eventually I will learn them. Please bare with me, as I will undoubtably be posting a lot of noob questions.

Re: Welcome thread-tell us about you.
Hi all, i am 55 years old, live in Norway and woodworking is one of my hobbies. I just ordered a Bravoprodigy BE3030-CB Lazer and engravingmachine so it is safe to say i am an absolute noob at this. I work with computers and software and have been doing so for 18 years and before that it was a big hobby all the way back since my first course in Basic-programming in 1982, so i hope that will help me with understanding this software and G-code etc.etc. Looking forward to receiving the machine :-)

Re: Welcome thread-tell us about you.
Hi all, Worked on a Daliah cnc mill 13 years ago and nothing since, also have some knowledge of fanuc robocut wirecutters specifically i0B and i0D. There has been some talk about getting a cnc machine for our toolroom so I came here to start sharpening up the little I knew and learn more about what happened since my last encounter. I am a qualified tool and die maker and currently work on Inventor 2011 for tool design purposes and edgecam to program our wirecutters. I have worked with powermill and catia v5.

Re: Welcome thread-tell us about you.
Hi everyone. I'm a shop manager and have been welding and machining for a couple decades. I'm just now getting into CNC as a hobby. There's a lot to learn, but I'm exited about the venture. Hopefully I don't get myself banned with all of my upcoming newbie posts / questions.

Re: Welcome thread-tell us about you.
Well, new to CNC and although I have a Bridgeport and a Harrison M300 lathe, have never had the benefit of any training. But I love being able to make bits for motorcycles I'm working on. I've long wanted CNC but only just got around to thinking about retrofitting it to my BP. So there's a lot to learn.
