In becoming a proficient CNC machinist you will need a good knowledge of metals hardness you will only be able to cut material with a tensile hardness higher than the material you are working on.

Hello guys,
I wanted for long to play with a CNC machine. I've just finished to build my small 3 axes CNC from scrap. It's based on arduino with grbl.
Thanks to the advices found here, I could avoid some basic mistakes. Of course not all mistakes were avoided, you have to keep a bit of fun...
For sure the next one will be better.
But now it's time to learn to use it properly.
Happy to join CNC Zone.
Regards to all!
I have just discovered a great forum and want to connect. I am an electronics technician and I am engaged in servicing various machines, such as plastic injection machines, machine tools. In the CNC world I am new so I can say that I'm still learning.I'll hope a good cooperation even though my English is not very good.
Hi Guys, new to the CNC world, just purchased a small second hand plasma. Burny 2.5 control, thermal dynamics pak15 plasma. still figuring it all out, that's where I'm hoping I will find some support from this community. As and mechanical engineer I'v had a lot to do with manufacturing and CAD, but now I'm looking forward being able to cut my own parts at home.
Hi everyone,
I am a woodworker but just bought a CNC. I am here for learning and networking. Have a great day!
Hi folks, i'm from South Africa, in the process of finishing my build, 3m x 1.5m x 500mm router. Using Bob cadCAM and mach 3, the machine has a 2.2kw hy spindle and break out board with m542 microstep drivers. hoping for the best.
Hi everyone,
I am photographer but just bought a laser cutter engrave. I am here for learning and networking. Have a great day!
Getting ready for retirement in a few years and have been looking for a hobby to start while I can afford all the toys necessary to start. Decided with a CNC router. Purchased a CNCRouterParts Pro 4848, Vectric Vcarve Pro, and Mach 3. Found this site searching the web for information to help me get started. Looking forward to joining the community.
Hi everyone, My name is Beta, (hi Beta), and I have been drawing parts (Solidworks mostly), creating toolpaths (MasterCAM exlusively), programming (manuaully) and setting cnc's since about 2008 when I learned in highschool in California. Still learning everyday about them .
Hello everyone,
Just got a small CNC I hope I find help here
Bam
A pleasure, I have found

Hello All!
Here to enjoy and learn.
Thanks in advance for all the contributions.
Hello
I am a mechanical engineer currently working as a machine designer for packaging industry. I also have a blog that I work on in my spare time about machine design: machinedsgn • Machine design tricks tips and stories
I am here because I like CNC machines and want to get some practical, real world knowledge. I also have a CNC router in the making, but it is not ready yet to be posted here
Regards

I'm a learner, old but new to cnc.......
I am a visual artist using computer technology to create public art. I have a home built 4x4 CNC router with Vetric products and Mach 3 which I have used for about 5 years. I hope to upgrade soon as I am in need of a machine to reliably cut thin aluminum among other things. I hope to both learn and share my knowledge as I create interesting art.
Hello from Arizona.
I'm new to Plasma cutting and I'm here for the knowledge. I've owned a Sign Shop for several years, now I work in I.T. and would like to get into CNC Plasma Cutting as a side hobby.
My goal is to manufacture quality products for Veterans of all branches in the service, something that makes us proud to show off our patriotism.
I'm looking forward to picking your brains.

Hello Everyone.
I have been machining for almost 24 years and was a carpenter before that. Now that I work in the office I need some creative release. Going crazy. I bought a small manual lathe and am considering converting to CNC. We will see. Maybe the office work has made me too lazy.
Hi all,
I am hobby electronic engener. In order to get my invention produced I got myself into CNC milling machines and build my injection machine.
Have a great day!
Hello everyone I'm here to learn, bin a avid wood and metal worker for a long time but I've recently started working with a individual who has a cnc router table, and my goal is to aventualy build my own, just here to hopefully absorb some knowledge
