Hello all,
My name is Thomas, I am from Tennessee USA. I am just getting started in the CNC hobby and LOVE it.
Hi....i just joined, hoping to benefit from all your experience. I have a 6040 Chinese cnc that i basically upgraded to a very good little machine, i use cambam and mach3. Plan to build a better/larger machine very soon
Hi every one, I'm Pichit from Bangkok ,Thailand. I'm electronics engineer, MCU programmer, circuit design, and interest to make CNC machine, CAD design ,CAM,...
I Just got Boxford DUET MKII from dumpster-shop( scraped from school) without cable , death PC. I don't expect the PC can work or not ,at least I can have the hardware such XYZ to convert to DIY CNC.
But ,I had try to have information to make it running as it been first. as you know I'm MCU friendly this make me to make data cable myself easily ,It is 8031 platform. then fix the old PC to running again by replace 3V battery (PC RTC).
and I was spent few hour to learn how to operate this Boxford DUET MKII ,finally I can have fully function machine work fine with original software V10.
But this PC just death again last week, so this make me headache ,if I have to purchase new license. so I try my self to backup old data (Windows XP) to new HD and new PC, then install new XP on that crap-XP and transfer the registry of license to new installation that fine , I can have new flesh DELL PC with original Boxford software V10 running for my puppy again.
I want to retrofit my Servo CNC 4 axis machine with new control system. Servo is not in active market anymore so it is very hard to get upgrade and update the program.
Thinking to get Mach4 and DeskProto. How do I change the control system?
Hi! I'm Jen, from, well.. Texas.. Pretty much a CNC newb. Have a couple of manual machines and one CNC Lathe: Bridgeport Knee Mill, Clausing Lathe a HAAS TL-1. Looking to get VMC soon as I have been borrowing time to work on projects from a local builder space that has a CNC mill.
Mach3 and DeskProto are good choices, but they require a mill that's basically operational. Does your mill currently work at all? Does it use actual servo motors (DC with encoders) or steppers? That makes a difference if you're changing the drivers.

Hello. My name is Martin. I am from Mexico. currently living in USA. I like learning about computers. just started using arduino. I hope I can build a cnc machine pretty soon.
Hi all, I'm from the UK, I have recently acquired a CNC Jr for just the cost of moving it and replacing the VFD. I'm sure I will be here a lot asking questions about getting it up and running and upgrading it. I'll be making my first post shortly as I need help choosing a VFD.
Hello! I'm from Italy, I have recently acquired a CNC 6040. I have to learn to use it well, but I love to experience new things.
It is currently running machine with brushless DC mototors with encoders. It has to run true DOS base to avoid any error pop up and stop running. I really like current window system to run the machine with new 5axes rotary table. What do I need to do?

Hi forum,
here effebal from Italy. I own a little cnc that I'm trying to use mainly for learning and (hoping) for doing some pcb prototyping.
This forum is plenty of info, so it is a pleasure to have so much material for learning.
Hi, we did many precision aluminum electronic enclosures, which will be assembled with PCB.

Recently joined up after a while of following the forums from the side lines. Currently soaking in as much info as possible in preparation for my upcoming benchtop cnc mill conversion. First mill for that matter. A lot to learn for sure, but having fun..
