I have a MaxNC 10. I mostly mill plastic parts at this stage, so it is doing a fine job for my tasking.
I would like to mill and engrave some larger pieces. I don't really fancy wood working, so I'm not sure router tables are for me. I'm also concerned about precision when it comes to routers and Dremel tools. Many of my pieces are 1 mil tolerances.
I would like to add some capability to my shop. 2' x 1' pieces, mostly in plastic. Tolerances of 1/2 - 1 mil would be very nice if I can achieve it.
I have been looking into some router designs. I'm not sure I need a router as the spindle, I'm thinking a motor and drive like my MaxNC would be better suited -- I also like the computer controlled spindle speeds.
Greetings, Midaco, Corp. manufactures a product called X-Tender that allows the user to move hi part without the need of refixturing. The concept might work for you as a short term solution. Just a thought.
