does anyone have a simple baseball?ive seen intricate ones on grabcad and other sites but I need something simpler.i want to turn the sphere on the lathe and then put it in a rotary on a 3 axis vert mill and trace the seam and stiches with a small ball mill.ive tried modeling this in mastercam but I have not been very successful.
thanks. I used the wireframe just like the one in the last pic that you posted.i deleted everything except the stitching edge curves.then I scaled it slightly larger than the sphere I made in the lathe and projected the laces"normal" to the sphere surface.then it was just contour with a .031 ballmill using axis substitution for the rotary.
yes its not a difficult something.. only the start made some headache, to figuring how stiches are have inclination...
the stichline itself is 4 half circle... a real great practice to drawing in 3d...
isnt funny that draftsight advertised for 2d only?
quite like the idea to engraving only the stiches into surface.. a lot simler than 3 milling the surface
