This took a while, the image was very small & blurry, then I needed to tweak the nodes a little.

Thanks Switcher

Looks great , i think i can make a good project of this.
Is the other image easyer to make?

This has a lot of open vectors, you might need to open the dxf in a cad program, then edit the nodes.
It's not easy to do animals, or anything with great detail. That's the reason I didn't post the dxf for the deer above (few post back) was it had a bunch of open vectors, takes a lot of time to close them up.

Thanks Switcher.
I see the difficulty.
I think it will need a lot of finetuning but the basic shape is a good startup.

I thought I would let everyone know, I'm working on a program that will include a SQL database, to store all of the DXF files I'm posting on my Blog.
I still have a lot of things I want to add to the program, before it is released.
All comments/suggestions are welcome.
The screenshot below is a rough draft of the program.

Does that mean we will be able to see all the files at once?
That would be great instead of switching pages with 7 or so to a page.
Just trying to be helpful
Thank you for sharing
Mark
p.s. nevermind I just went back to your blog and noticed if I clicked on the right hand links it shows them all for that year
thanks again

Hi all my first post. I`m into mechanisms with laser and cnc router for use in teaching. Here are some gears for you all hope you can make use of them I may post other stuff if you are interested see my laser cut toy train on the link below.

Too cool!!.. thanks for sharing. Do you have any other machine type projects that you have made?
Mark
Yes mostly 2D mechanisms I have a crab animation on Youtube under prodesktop. Cranks and cams are fairly easy.
Man thats cool, I checked out that crab.. do you also have the files for that to share?
Also how are you testing you work to make sure everything is going to work out before you cut?
Thanks Mark
Thanks Kram I have never made the crab so you can try it out for me. Some models I just assemble in CAD and animate them so I know they work. However you may have to twiddle with the hole sizes depending on what you use for pins and pivots. Acrylic is good say 3mm. The crab has a lot of moving parts so friction may be an issue in reality. You may have to make tool path adjustments if you are not using a laser. Have fun. The software used to model the crab and train is Pro-desktop free to students in UK when trained in its use.
