igesin is the command in Autocad to bring in an IGES file. Not sure if that works in Lite though.
There are a few free viewers and some will do a conversion to other formats even under a 90day trail.

A little background:
I just got done volunteering at my friends giant ice fishing contest. $180,000 worth of prizes on the line and the proceeds going to the local VFW charities. The great news is a 13 year old boy took first prize of $20,000 with a 5.5lb northern pike. :) Obviously many sponsors and volunteers were involved, so this is how I said thank you to 16 of them. With 16 feet of Mahogany, a personalized message, and some stain.
I had one CEO tell me he can't wait to hang it in his office. Another said no event he sponsored for the entire year responded with anything other than a verbal thank you...and he said HE was humbled. WOW!
I thought it was just a small token of my appreciation for how much their support meant to us. I think I stumbled onto something...a plaque is tangable proof of how nice they are and nobody can deny it? I hope it helped cement future sponsorship from all involved.
Keep this in mind all of you talented CNC people when your helping out your buddies!
Here's a pic of half of them drying on a window sill in the sun. It was 0 degrees F. outside so I had to stink up the house drying them.
Ferny.
Not working. I guess my cad does not support it. I spent the past 9 hours looking for a converter. Even a trial one and I can not find it. Does anyone know any software (freeware) or trial that I can use to convert and save an IGES file to a more standard format. Same for solid works. I have some nice models but I can not convert them.

job well done Ferny.
Could someone help convert this picture to DXF? I will be running it on a plasma cutter using cold rolled steel. Making sure that the letters do not fall out. The client uses this KY PROUD symbol in his advertising and wanted to have one out of metal to place on a stand/table at his next conference.
Thanks and have a great day!

Download Rhino http://www.rhino3d.com/ it gives you 25 saves and can open a iges save as a dwg.
Or post the file and I will convert it for you.
Thanks

Hi,
Still very new to cad. I have the model converted but nothing seems to join so I can not render it or import it. Here are the 2 files in igs. 1 for the left and 1 for the right.
Thanks for the assist.
