Default Custom Sprint Car DXF file

Here is a custom Sprint Car design that I created today. Took me about 1 1/2 hours to complete. I will be adding more images like this to my website www.customdxffiles.com in the near future.

    Sincerely,

Switcher, "You can create that path in Inkscape with a few clicks." Is there a way to change the solid little circle to a say, point? so you could save that pattern as a dxf file. or would you have to go back in and do that manually? As is, thanks for the tip this could be real handy. At first I had lines all over the place but then re read the instructions and figured out that my circles were too big. But the more I play with this program the more things I find you can do.

    Default Thank you Switcher

I just started using Inkscape this week and am quite a rookie. I looked at all the videos on YouTube but didn't remember seeing anything like this. What a time saver.

    Thanks,

    Ferny.

    br1, Ferny

About the only way I can think of, is to reduce the black circle in size.

In the first example, I think that circle was set to width=15.0px height=15.0px

The smallest you can make a circle is 0.001pixels (width & height), the Inkscape project below includes the same fish silhouette with all the dots/circles in the path reduced down to 0.001px

If you open the project it looks like it is empty, the fish is really their, If you go to "Edit -> Select All" in Inkscape you will see the bounding box of the fish object, in the center of the project page.

If I did my DPI (dot per inch) math correct, wouldn't the X&Y on the cnc be looking to move 0.00001 inch (lol ), after the Inkscape dxf has been scaled to from pixel to inch?

You'll have to test to get tool offset (distance between circle/centers).

Click the black image below to see a screenshot of the attached DXF file.

    Clearcut,

Here's the dxf you pm'ed me for... it took me about 5 minutes including helping my son with his homework and searching for an image to convert the jpeg found on the 'net into this dxf using inkscape and switcher's dxfr12 "plug-in"

Inkscape is fast, once you learn the basic tools.

    Good job on the dxf!

I think that's a pay font from Carol Twombly.
