    mlind,

I made a video, that shows how I made the Inkscape halftones.

The video is broken into 2 parts, to keep the file size small

    Here is Part 1:
    http://www.mediafire.com/?c200yim3lpz

    I'm uploading Part 2, now.

I tried to post here on cnczone, but the zip files wouldn't upload?

The videos don't have audio, If you have any ?'s, just post them.

I didn't use youtube because of the youtube low quality, the screencast get all blurry.

Here is a John Wayne photo, converted to a Halftone Image in Inkscape.

I used circles, as the clone object.

Thanks guys! here is a pic of what I ended up cutting. I used 1/4" poplar (3/4" oak was way too thick) and it turned out great. my wife is going to paint it this week and I will clear it and post a pic of the final product.

The dxf was exported from Corel as an Acad 2002 file so I hope it opens okay.

There's an extra locking pin in the drawing. I thought I should mention that so you don't think you have parts left over... ha

Here is one that I made! Better late then never. I didn't use MDF though and put heavy duty felt on the rockers so that it wouldn't damage the floors.
the dxf is in post #3710

    Default Rocker

That looks great rcpilot82! The felt on the rockers was a good idea too.

I had made a couple for a local hardwood supplier out of cherry, maple and walnut that they displayed in their lobby. Didn't think to get pictures of them at the time.

I also want to say thanks to Switcher and all of you here who take the time to post files and share knowledge. What a great forum!

    Default Clamshell ceiling

    Hi

A client of mine wants a clamshell design similar to the one seen in niches in a sitting room that is semi-circular in shape. The room is approx 30 feet along the back wall with a 15 feet radius semi- circle. Does anyone have a dxf, or any ideas about how to go about this project.

    Regards
    Mick

    What is the material?

I would think foam-board would work to your advantage, then a few skim coats of plaster.

Is something like this, what your looking for?

How deep is the working area?

    Maybe some ideas here:
