Where do you folks find layout dye?! I have looked at a few places now with no luck. Is it also called something else?

If you need to do a layout in a hurry, a permanent marker works just fine. And you don't have to worry about knocking it over.

another alternative for larger areas that I have used is cheap flat black spray paint, dries fairly quickly, doesn't chip readily [in thin single coats], and comes off fairly easily with gas or similar solvents..
I suppose just about any colour would work..dark colours are easier for me to see, better contrast usually..
