Guys my experience with spade drills is minimal and the recomended speeds and feeds are what I consider outrageously high. I will be drilling a 2.0625 hole thru 1018 steel 6 inches deep and the tools recomended speed and feed is 240 SFM with .023 IPR or 445 RPM at 20.47 IPM If I run these speeds and feeds in our 10hp 40 taper Haas VF-3 Im going to wreak the tool holder. I bought the good MetCut TIALN coated tips and have 70 of the parts to do. We ran 2 of theses already for the prototype, but at 150 RPM and 1.2 IPM and it killed our productivity. Any help appreciated! Thanks
