Cant get my laser to engrave

Hi!
Im new here, so sorry if I post in the wrong section or something.

now to my problem. We have Bystronics bystar3015 wich we are unable to engrave or mark our details/parts we cut out. For nesting we use Jetcam 2016.
when i load a dxf file were is detail with a text on number on, the program Jetcam takes it in, nests it to a cutting plan. It shows the detail and the text on a computer that the laser is suppose to textmark/engrave the text on that detail. But when I start to cut the detail in my laser it cuts through this text nut engrave it on???

Bystronic is not an engraver

Engraving ID tags etc is a very common process on industrial lasers?
