I am hoping to find A laser to do clock faces that is easy to set up and use around $500.00. Please advise Billy Goodwin.

    It doesn't exist.

A simple diode laser alone is over $300, without a machine to put it on.

What do you mean?? cut them out of timber or just engrave the face on? Or are they metal faces.

What I have is around that price but it is a 5500mw led laser but will only cut through 3mm ply and that is with up to 20 slow passes, forget cutting mdf wood. Wont cut or engrave metal, but does a good job on wood.

You can get 40watt cheap chinese co2 lasers for around that price as well and they will cut thicker wood etc.

As for easy setup it can depend on the program that comes with it or the one you purchase to use on it.

On my led I purchased a program called T2 Laser as it was less than $50 and the free ones drove me almost crazy, each one had different problems, but T2 works okay.

You will need a program to make your clock face on then convert it to a format that the laser will use. Like a cad program or general drawing program but once you have it then it is useually easy to run on the laser.

So what do you know about computers in general and graphics programs and designing? EBay ones are junk, and you will find a forum on here where they are constantly repairing and remodeling the K40 they purchased. There are lots of options, but not in your price range.
