Use a 50watt laser and Cermark FORMULA LMM-6000. It will allow you to mark metal.

I make parts out of plastic & aluminum. I would like to be able to mark my parts with company name patent numbers etc. I see some Chinese fiber lasers on ebay I am not wanting to spend a lot but if these are not good I would just as soon skip the idea. I have a CNC router but it sure is slow engraving that way. I tried searching to get these answers and couldn't find what I was looking for.
Thanks Mike

Or 100W Synrad marking machine.
CNC lasers, constructions, service
If you don't already have a laser, best bang for the buck for metal marking is a generic 20w fiber on ebay for under $3200 and free shipping. Cermark is great but you need probably 60w or better, I have a 40 watt metal laser that's not enough power, and I have an 80 watt that works well. But a C02 laser with that much power will likely set you back more than the fiber
