Definitely not CO2 machine for deep engraving metal as silver, almost all beam energy with it's wavelength will be reflected from silver.

a 20W fiber laser can engrave stainless steel a breeze, but not on a CO2, if you plan to engrave on metals go with the fiber, you can run all day engraving aluminum without a scratch at all, it does'nt cut it, not a single scratch even on a 100W CO2 Laser, unless if you annodized the aluminum, it will mark on the annodized coating but then again not on the aluminum itself.
