Hello to all!
I recently found an old GCC LaserPro L-30 Laser engraver with a Synrad J-48 2 25W tube.
I downloaded and installed the Mercury v3.58 driver without a problem and the laser machine starts moving when I send it an .eps file.
But then it stops and says on the laser’s LCD display:
“Command error, Use GCC driver or HP pen plotter driver”
What am I not doing correctly? Maybe the file I’m sending isn’t right?
I made an .eps file using Photoshop and I sized it to 25 X 18 inch, then I printed it from Photoshop and chose Mercury in the print settings..
Also, I am interested in upgrading the tube to a Synrad J-48 5 50W.
As far as i understand, I can replace the power supply with a stronger one (the 50W tube needs 30V 28A), CNC new mounting brackets for the larger laser, install water cooling tubes and a pump, and put a BNC spliter to connect the 50w laser to the GCC main board.
Am i missing something?
