HELP: dramatically inconsistent cuts on different sides of machine
Welp, sat down to my favorite ol' laser cutter to find out it was acting up again. This thing really likes giving me grief.
It's a large bed laser cutter (4'x3') and I am seeing amazing, flawless cuts on the top right corner of the machine, but terrible cuts pretty much everywhere else on the machine; specifically, the left side. The circles I'm cutting as a test also have a drastically different burn depths from the start of the cut to the end. what the hell?
I was running at 80% power, 10mm/s, 85% through-put. Any idea?

I have a 5'x10' laser. You can check a few thing.
1. Check your mirrors and clean with alcohol including lens in nozzle
2. Realign the laser path
3. Make sure your nozzle has not hit material on bed.
Re: HELP: dramatically inconsistent cuts on different sides of machine
Man what a time i have been having with this. I realigned the laser first thing in the morning the next day. Next adjusted the auto focus, it worked better. Cleaner cuts/no cuts.
Measured the depth of the depth of the bed and that varied by about 3/8", so I fixed that by going under the machine and rotating the screws by hand. I cut a little better. Then someone else took over and updated the motherboard; which the reverse the direction of the x and y causing the machine to run into the walls. It sucked.
We had to download a new version of Rdworks to get the option the fix that.
It is a uniform cut now. Looks good. cuts OK
