Kickstarter LightPhase 40w Laser cutter @2500

Hey,

I'm looking at an affordable laser cutter to cut 3mm acrylic for hobby use that is a bit more reliable/safer than most of the Chinese ones.

Just found this kickstarter https://www.kickstarter.com/projects...ref=nav_search that looks like it is quite well built.

It's a 40w laser cutter for $2500 (if you get the super early bird) that looks like it could be worth the risk if it reaches funding.

Wondering what peoples thoughts are? Any other suggestions?

Expensive and not possible to upgrade to a larger tube. Limited adjustability of bed height.

A kick starter for a 40w laser engraver??? Its been done folks, this has to be a Joke.

For the extra $2180, I can certainly turn my Chinese k40 in to something really safe and usable, not that I find it that bad now.
