I just recently purchased a preowned epilog laser to help expand my business I run out of the garage with my wife. Currently we're using a CNC Shark router (love it) but I want to be able to do other things that the router won't be able to do. However one thing I'm pretty sure I'll be needing is something I have to make for the router from time to time: a spoil board. Do lasers require the use of a spoil board for projects that require the laser to cut all the way through the material in your project? If so what do people suggest and where can I get it?
Re: newbie question regarding spoil board for lasers
No they do not use a spoil board as such you can use a honey comb sheet, a pin table, a blade, or stand offs like small lock washers to hold it off the metal plate.
