Re: Laguna Tools Laser Cutter
Jram, I entirely understand. I wish I had listened to my gut in the beginning when the details were vague. Typical salesman experience selling a product that they were not familiar with, I made the assumption that it was bc it was a new item just coming on the market but relied on the company name for reputation, HUGE MISTAKE. I don’t have much experience buying Lasers but you probably made the best decision choosing ANY OTHER COMPANY. To be perfectly honest, now that I have nearly fully rebuilt/re-wired this entire machine if I buy another CO2 Laser, it will be one of the cheap no name Chinese units from Amazon. For the price, and the work it took to rebuild, I will come out way ahead. I could rebuild approximately 3 of the 60W amazon units for what I had to pay and put into this machine. The most expensive part is the Reci Laser tube. When the factory tube burns out, just replace the tube and upgrade the power supply if a more powerful unit is desired that’s basically all it takes except for possible extending the tube enclosure. Granted the bed may not be as big but how often does the entire size of the bed get used. Next in line is the Ruida controller, but if the system already comes with it, then your good. The heap drivers are only about $25 retail coupled with a $35 stepper motor, when they burn out upgrade to some quality Gecko drives, or even the G540 it is more than capable of running the entire machine. The rest of the parts are pretty standard and aren’t very expensive. Just make sure to choose a unit with good rails (hiwin style) and a decent head. This with a quality tube and controller is the majority of the system.

Rickbull, I’m envious of your Epilog, there is no comparison in quality between the two. Ferrari vs Gremlin
1.I have received the machine. I have not updated my thread here, I REALLY NEED TO DO SO!!! Because I DO NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE DOING BUSINESS WITH LAGUNA TOOLS after the experience that I had with them.
however I have FULLY UPDATED my review on the Inventables forum. You can read my review here.

this thread will fully explain the entire situation. I left absolutely nothing out.
2. As to quality, I have seen better quality manure coming from the back end of a farm animal
3. As to customer service, see my answer to #2 above.
If if you need more info please do not hesitate to ask. I am an open book.
Co2 issues dont seem to be slowing them down. They're pushin' fiber laser cutters as high as 4KW.
Re: Laguna Tools Laser Cutter
Hi Michaelmsg, are you still on CNCZONE? Hoping for some insight on how I might improve my Laguna EX performance. 110V @ 150 watts just stopped cutting through MDF.. Focus system is lousy too. Anyone else one here have any thoughts?
