Hello
I am working on a bystronic byspeed 4400 W ,3000x1500 laser cutting machine by about 2 weeks.I am cutting steel using O2 ,using 5' and 7.5' cutting heads. Everything is alright but i still don't get one thing. I noticed focal position is the first parametre to change usually to improve my cut quality and some feed rate.
Is there any trick, formula about this focal position so i do not have to randomly set it? Lets say im cutting an 8mm using 7.5 inch ,O2. With default parametres it doesn't work i have to set the focal position at about 5,5-6 and feed rate lower about 15-20 to have a quality ,smooth cut. I know how feed rate works but i have no idea how this focal position work so i can easily set it from 1st try. The lens was clean, nozzle was centred well ,table quality was 7/10.
If any of you knows any tricks or advices to share about Focal position I would be grateful, Thanks
