anyone?
Hi please can anyone help me, i have put a new 50w tube in my machine due to the other one stopped working (it cracked). When i go to use the machine it wont let me go above 20% power and even then i wouldn't say it was working. It has clean cold deionized water and no bubbles. Checked all the wiring all seems ok.
any ideas or suggestions would be helpful thank you

Was the old tube running at full power when it cracked? That would verify your control system is working if it did. So its either the HVPS or the tube is bad, take your chances. There are You Tube videos telling how to check.

Looks to be dead. Was it set for maximum power? If so it is a piece of s.....

the maximum power i had it on was 90% but that wasn't all the time.. i have ordered a new power supply thinking it was that still waiting for it to arrive. so you think it might be the tube?
Here is what I would consider. Is the water hooked up correctly. Did you solder the high voltage terminal. Did you crack it when connecting the tubing. Shock it with very cold water. Can you return it?

Are you getting your cheap RF tubes from here > https://www.aliexpress.com/popular/rf-laser-tube.html Did not know the Chinese made them, last time I priced a new 50 Watt Synrad RF tube it was about $8,000 USD. A good 60 Watt DC glass tube would set you back about $400 USD. Granted a good RF tube will outlast 3 glass tubes, but your still money ahead. The only way you gain is the very good engraving quality with the Synrad tube IF you need that function. Trotec I think is made in Austria, could be wrong is the top of the line in RF lasers.
It must be a Polish to English conversion thing, because everyone else in the world calls them laser tubes, except for you ? ?

Water has nothing to do with this. No matter if it flows from left to right or from right to left.
Soldering is not necessary. If you are not a MASTER of SOLDERING you better don`t try. That`s easiest way to crack it.
If the HV terminal was cracked there would be nothing or only very short (1/10s) flash inside.
Why I think it is a laser fault, not PSU? Because PSU gives HV good enaugh to start lasing action.
Of course it may happen that HV is OK, but current is insufficient but statistic say it is less possible.
