Default Laser tube won't fire the beam

    Hi all,

I've got a really weird problem with my laser tube.
At a certain value on the mA meter the laser is actually lasering
    (See video: )

When I change the value of the potentiometer to adjust the laser output than no actual beam is comming out of the tube.
Inside the tube I see the beam building (purple beam) but it doesn't come out of the tube.
I've tried with a piece of paper between the tube and the first mirror.
    (See video: )

My laser is a 1200mm long 60watt glass tube, water cooled.

Does anyone have an idea of whats happening, what is the issue and/or how to solve this?

    Many Thanks!

    Pierke

Try sanding the contact posts and the HV clips on the glass tube with a 240 grit sand paper to have a fresh contacts, and test it again if it works in some cases it`s loosing power due to carbon build up on the contact points

If I can just see your video maybe I can relate on the problem, but im not seeing it, it says access forbidden

if you already sanded the HV contacts there`s a test switch on the power supply on it. try pressing that if it fires, that switch will fire the tube @ 100%, try that first to eliminate software issues (machine parameters) if it still does`nt then I guess your tube is worn out, if you dont know how to refill it then I guess you need to replace it

    I'll give it a shot.
But I'd like to buy it on the cheap so if I fix it for the guy it goes up to 2K. Too much for me.
    Thanks for your help
