Normally you use a bitmap file for engraving. Are you importing a .txt file?
HELP. I have a new 80w CO2 Chinese laser. I put a simple text file in RDworks v8 and upload it to the controller/ The output is just a solid burned line no matter the power or speed settings. When I change the file from "Scan" to "Cut" it does burn the text but connects all of the letters together with a burned line. I really think this is a setting problem of some kind, but I have tried everything.

Try to engrave on MDF or paper attached file.
It is circle + square (no fill) and scanned m67 letters. Roughly 1"x2" in size all.

This file is .rd for mskaggs67 (not for you) to he can put it directly on USB stick and cut/engrave. This way he can check and confirm his machine is ok (if cut/engrave this file properly).
