Hi guys, looking forward to building a CNC Plasma, but I'm not really a computer savvy person, so before I go and buy a computer to run cnc, this is the details on this computer for sale - - Intel Celeron 3.2GHz CPU
- Microsoft Windows XP (Home ed), service pack 4 and current security fixes.
Apparently there is a 32bit and a 64bit version of XP, so I'm not sure if any of these details will help identify if it's a 32bit? I have messaged the seller asking the question, but thought I would ask here as well. If this is a 32bit, would this computer be ok to run PlasmaCam? and possibly Linux later down the track when I wish to upgrade?
I know that my CNC and laser do not need a high end computer to run them. I have a high end laptop to do designs and every day stuff and send the jobs to a network storage unit that my control computers can pull from
Seller got back to me, it is a 32bit. Yeah I get the idea that we only need basic computers to run these machines, I suppose if I need an ethernet port or usb slots installed, could just run it up to a computer shop.
