HI GUYS .... I HAVE A 4 WIRE STEPPER MOTOR AND IM JUST TRYING TO IDENTIFY WIRING .... ie A+ A- B+ B- THE COLOURS ARE RED\WHITE\BLUE\YELLOW...... WITH MY CONTINUITY TESTER I KNOW RED/BLUE ARE PAIRED AND WHITE/YELLOW ARE PAIRED ... CAN ANYONE TELL ME HOW TO TELL WHICH IS + AND WHICH IS - ...THANKS IN ADVANCE
It does not matter which is + or -
Just hook up one pair to A+/- and one pair to B+/-
If rotation direction is wrong you can either change direction in software or change one pair of wires
FYI stepper drivers have 4 states so direction of wire hookup does not matter
-> A+ to A- ,B+ to B-
-> A+ to A- ,B- to +
-> A- to A+ ,B+ to B-
-> A- to A+ ,B- to B+ then 4 steps repeate
Microstepping is done by change in current level in A and B
thanks very much for your reply george .....im upgrading my chinese cutter which doesnt have stepper drivers fitted...the motors were wired straight into the control board .... im upgrading to a awc708c controller and the wiring diagram shows it connected to drivers before motors so ive got a pair ordered
