Default chinese cutter upgrade using AWC708C

hi guys...... its my first time on here and very new to all this and wondering if i could have some help please.....
i bought a chinese cutter a few weeks ago and although it works well i decided to upgrade it using a Awc708c controller.
on the original setup the x &y stepper motors are connected directly to the board ( 4 wires each red/white/blue/yellow).
my question is .... do i need to install stepper drivers to use this new controller... any help would be much appreciated ...thanks

Your old board would still have used stepper drivers, the stepper motor is connected to the driver and the driver to the board.

its one of the lihuiyu studio labs that uses a dongle to verify authenticity ....... it seems to work well but then again its the only cutter ive ever used so cant compare it to anything else.... the reason im upgrading is because the software is set at 75% laser power and non adjustable....although speed is....im having to do each job in 2 stages ...engrave at whatever power then adjust power manually on cutter before cut operation ..and there is no jog option on software either which i could be doing with

Did you ever get a reply about the drivers? I have the 36volt board like yours and can not find servo drivers. I think they are built into this board.
My AW708C hasn't arrived yet. Did you install stepper drivers?

Thanks, good to know. Luckily I have 3 spare drivers sitting by for my cnc machine so will not have to order more.

    Thanks, again.
