I want to use an aquarium style pump for my air assist and would like to know how many lph or gph is enough.
I know I can use a compressor set at approx. 5-6 psi but that's pressure and aqua pumps are rated by volume.
I am on a very tight budget for this and simply put, don't want to spend $150 on a pump if the $35 one is sufficient.
I have found posts claiming as little as 9 lph and as much as 3200 lph is required. A bit too big of a gap for me to have any clue as to where to begin.
It's the K40 laser and I will mainly be working with wood and acrylic.
Thank you for any insight you may be able to provide me on this, Jeff .
hi
you cannot convert LPH to PSI one is a volume and the other is pressure but you probably already know that
however I can say that the air pump that came with my 60w machine puts out 38 litres per minute and is quite enough
so about 2200 L/h should do
if thats of any help
Dave

Reason: typo
I've been trying to find a solution to this as well. I got the largest aquarium pump I could find it I feel like it still is barely pushing any air out of the nozzle of my Rabbit laser.
I bought an air dryer to set myself up for a stronger compressor, but I can't find a decent one that isn't deafening loud in my small shop
