I have been working with a laser cutter for more than a year now. The machine works
with LaserCut 5.3 software.
I use LaserCut just to import DXF files. And here is the thing:
DXF files imported from InkScape run slow.
DXF files from Corel work faster using the same settings in LaserCut.
Any idea why??
Also DXF files from InkScape are imported "broken appart". So I use the "unite lines"
tool to bring them together again. DXF from Corel are imported "already united".
Already tried all exporting options from both programs I can get to imagine but can´t
get it.
Re: Importing DXF files with LaserCut 5.3 - ISSUES
A new experience about this problem:
So I prepared a drawing using InkScape and saved it as a DXF file. Later I imported the file to LaserCut and it took 02:40 minutes to cut the job.
Then I exported the same file in InkScape as a PDF file. I opened it in CorelDraw and exported as a DXF file again.
Imported to LaserCut using exactly the same settings and it took 01:37 minutes to cut the job.
Re: Importing DXF files with LaserCut 5.3 - ISSUES
are both files exporting as the same version dxf you may have to use a legacy version. I had to do this with a different program that could not read auto cad 2012 dxf's but could a 2010 version.
