Default pc wont connect to laser cutter

    Hi everyone
I bought a chinese laser cutter off eBay
i thought i was buying from a uk based seller plowlive-uk

But it turned out it was a direct from china seller, after it arrived.

Anyway i got it, unpacked it, set it up & checked it worked

Then didn’t get to use it for a week or two due to work commitments

i installed coral laser & laserDRW as the booklet said

1st problem coral laser doesn’t work at all

But the laserDRW did so drew a simple txt name just to see if worked properly

i plugged in the memory stick in & tried to cut

when i tell it to cut it displays 'Need driver installing' i can’t find a driver on the stick or the disc at all (to be honest I’m not shore what the memery stick is there to do as it doesn’t seem to have much on it.

From reading some of the boards this seems like a common problem

The information I’ve found for this machine is

    Device id: A0C74F11482D42F7

    Mainboard: 6c6879-laser (I think)
    Company/maker : Zhongpu
    Model : zhongpu-460

if anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated

also laserDRW isn't that great ,could anyone tell me of a good drawing program which would work on this machine

    cheers Tony

    Tony

I think you will find that the USB stick is a dongle for the laser software that you were supplied with. I'm guessing that you were given LaserCut as the laser software. LaserCut requires a dongle to operate. You must have the dongle plugged into the computer that you use to create the file that you wish to cut/engrave.

If my guess is correct, you need to install the driver for your controller (probably Leetro 6515 or similar?) and the driver for which ever version of software (LaserCut or CorelDraw) that you wish to use to control the laser. You can use either LaserCut or CorelDraw to drive the laser machine. Myself, I was never successfull in using CorelDraw to drive the laser.

    My workflow was;
Design in CorelDraw -> save to dxf file -> import dxf file into LaserCut -> use LaserCut to cut/engrave project.

You can also export your project to USB stick from LaserCut and then print directly from the machine.

If my guess is incorrect, then none of the above is relevant for each laser controller uses specific software to drive it. I only have experience with LaserCut and LaserCad - anything else and I can't help you.

Try and find out exactly which controller you have and then people with experience with that software will be able to help.

    Hi Tony,

What is your mainboard name: MPC6515? Or MPC6525? Leetro control card, better use XP computer, If win 7, you'd better use Win 7 32 bit. If win 7 64 bit, it would be a bit difficult to recognize USB driver.

It is better if you can send us control card picture, then we'd like to give you updated file or driver. Please contact me by info@jncslaser.com

    Best Regards
