Newbie, Chinese laser cutter head moving wrong way on x-axis
Hello!
My husband and I just purchased and set up a 40w CO2 China laser. I know, you get what you pay for, and most people say not to bother with the China lasers but we don't have much money and figured we would test the waters with this machine first.
We've got it set up, but when we power it on, the laser head moves to the top, but then all the way to the right instead of left and does not stop when it reaches the limit, making a horrible noise.
Any advice is appreciated while we wait to hear back from the eBay seller
Re: Newbie, Chinese laser cutter head moving wrong way on x-axis
First identify the problem axis. (sounds like Y but could also be X)
There should be a setting in the software to change the direction, if not and it uses stepper motors you could reverse the wiring on one of the phases to change directions (software is the best option, wiring should be a last resort method).
What software is it using to control the machine?
Sounds like theres only a home switch(s) and no end stop switches, which is ok, but you dont want it to crash into the end like its doing now.
