i opened the dsp up and nothing looks burnt is there any possible way i did not burn it up ? if 120 did get applied directly to it could it survive? could be the reason the fuse blew the first time?
i think some how i put 120 directly to the DSP and fried it ,,, i took the board to a electronic shop here in town and told them that and they said they will look at it . pretty sure i will need new stepper drivers i actually saw one of them smoke, not to worried about the cost of those... but it all does suck this is the second time i have tried to upgrade this laser and the second time i have failed! one time was with a card that directly replaced the moshidraw card and it would only control one axis and now this
I feel really bad right now. 120v will certainly fry a unit made for only 24v. Also, while on the subject. I noticed on the diagram that I linked you to, that one of the stepper drivers has no electrical connection showing to it. It does, however need the 24v to power it. I also noticed that you state yours is a DSP 140. The diagram is for the AWC 608. I really know nothing of the 140, is it similiar?
no reason for you to feel bad. it cost 140 to have the dsp fixed, its a awc 608 like you thought . i have all ready got the DSP fixed (the shop was real quick! mostly fix cell phones and tv's think he was happy to see something different) and just ordered me steppers from TN so i hope they get here quick lol i hooked up the stepper the same way as the one that had the power hooked to it. I banged my head up against the wall a few times now i am ok! lol
I wish I could be standing there with you to help you get this thing going. It is not really difficult, it just demands complete focus to get it right.
we just back in town tonight. I ordered two stepper controllers and they only had one in stock. I got to order another one here in a day or two. you know how the after vaca brokenness is! Have not given up hope yet!
ok i got the other stepper in today so i am slowly going to try this again what i have here is the power supply hooked up and the wires running to it and the laser ,now the two spots that are empty are for the steppers right?
I got my buddy stopping in tomorrow to help check the wire job I did today I do believe I have it hooked up right but thought I did last time also .... so we will see
The shut off is the job of the end stops. It should go to the upper left corner and then either stop in that position or continue to the last 'origin' spot that was input at the time of last use. This will happen every time you turn the machine on. Make sure that your endstops are wired correctly. Each one needs only 2 wires from the DSP unit. Both endstops should be in the upper left of the machine. One for the x axis and one for the y. This is a very good wiring diagram: Lightobject.com Support Forum ? View topic - K40 dsp wiring diagram. You can see the limit switches wired to the x,y,z, limit connector. I hate to keep saying the same thing, but, slow and steady!!
well i unplugged the x and y motor until the dsp quit saying resetting once it quit i plugged everything back in and turned it on and it stayed in the home position it let me jog the head around but says its at zero and zero about 3 inches away from the top left corner and wont let me more it any further out than this but i know i am headed in the right direction
just to be clear it will not go any further right or down this this if i am jogging it i have not tried to engrave the 100 by 100 square yet going to do that in the morning
so every thing is about the same but you have a extra things i dont the "limit polarity" i dont have and my um is not the same think i set it to 5 last night should i just enter what you have?
