We bought a used BBS plasma cutter 6x2m, with NUM controller Power 1020.
NUM controller doesn't work, we are looking into options to repair it or retrofit another CNC.
We got SRAM error, battery is dead. Machine can't start, it doesn't start the drives, either because of missing data or we have some additional electrical issues...
Manufacturer company is closed, since 2004. Can't find anyone familiar with NUM in Croatia, not a very popular controller here, NUM support for Croatia is in Switzerland, which kinda speaks for it self.
Which CNC controllers are most common for plasma cutters?
(...are reliable, user friendly, have support in Croatia or close enough to Zagreb ( Slovenia, Serbia, Hungary, Austria..) and are a economical solution?)
Options so far:
1. colleagues root for Siemens, it doesn't sound to me like a natural environment for plasma cutter
2. thermaldynamics, we are suggested to replace everything but the mechanics, to leave just the table, didn't get the offer yet.
3. TexComputer, never heard, Italian company, we would have to change the servo drives, don't see why.
I would like to find the controller which naturally goes with plasma cutting, that can use existing servo's, THC Inovia InterLogic HD(which works) and HD3070...
NUM 1020 problem. Best CNC retrofit option?
