Just got my CNC 6040 machine from china, just wondering if anyone can tell me whats the best software to use and where to download it, also any other tips for a newbie
What type of software did you have in mind?
For machine control I use LinuxCNC, but if you're not a unix guy then Mach3 is probably a better choice.
So far I have written all my G code manually because of the learning curve of all the CAD/CAM applications I've tried.
I think the most important thing is to make a basic dust shoe right away.
